  • Serging 101

  • So while i was in the car this morning, on my way to Fredrick MD with the family, i decided that i need to start writing my ideas somewhere. Not so people can steal them but you know, so i can get feedback… right?

    Anyways i just bought a brother 1043 D serger and i have no idea how to use it, though i did master threading it! that was quite a feat.It turns out that there’s a little knife that cuts away extra fabric right next to the needle. FYI that needs to be down when you’re trying to serge curved pieces of fabric, unless you don’t want them to be chopped up and weird which normally i enjoy “Happy Mistakes” but this was not one of them. I’ll post a picture as soon as i get up in the morning to let you guys see the hilariousness of my first serging attempt.
