Exploring Art of the Ancient Americas: The John Bourne Collection Gift

I have had the wonderful chance to see these pieces before they were put on display at the Walter’s Art Museum! I cannot tell you how exciting itt was to be int he same room with these objects while trying hard not to sneak glances at the Olmec artifacts I so treasure! There was one statue in particular that reminded me of the Portriat of Commodus as Hercules- but instead of a lion’s pelt, I assumed it was a jaguar pelt instead… you know mostly because lions aren’t native to mesoamerica…. so… alright. enough out of me! I will keep you posted on more events at WAM!

Serging 101
So while i was in the car this morning, on my way to Fredrick MD with the family, i decided that i need to start writing my ideas somewhere. Not so people can steal them but you know, so i can get feedback… right?

Anyways i just bought a brother 1043 D serger and i have no idea how to use it, though i did master threading it! that was quite a feat.It turns out that there’s a little knife that cuts away extra fabric right next to the needle. FYI that needs to be down when you’re trying to serge curved pieces of fabric, unless you don’t want them to be chopped up and weird which normally i enjoy “Happy Mistakes” but this was not one of them. I’ll post a picture as soon as i get up in the morning to let you guys see the hilariousness of my first serging attempt.

In the mean time- keep it real.

i know it’s been a whil since we last connected. I’ve been busy, and frankly i forgot about you. I know these are harsh words, but believe me I have way more things to think about than you, and frankly you’re kind of a slut.
